Looking for a bike in the range of $2000-$4500, thoughts on Ninja 650 or SV650?

Hey I don't know a whole lot about street bikes, but I have been directed to these two bikes (Ninja 650 or SV650), just looking if these are worth my while or what I should be looking into. Wanting something fast, with some pep that's also reliable, but I also understand that beggars can't be choosers. Option's please, Thanks guys!
