Is there any one who can help me find out information on the "Black Dutch"?

The Black Dutch we're Romani people who made there way to the America in the 1700's and were, as they always have been, labeled as thieves and beggars and were driven away. They made their way to Pennsylvania. The Dutch of the area were kind to the Romani and lent them a hand, and said that they were Dutch. WHen others would ask why the Romani were darker complected then the rest. The Dutch replied that they were "black dutch", or a people also from the Holland only with darker skin. I am looking into my own genealogy and found out that I have black dutch relatives, but it is very hard to track the records as there weren't many, if any. Any information would be of great assistance, thank you.
